Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

End of Cinderella
03:57
|
|||
Mascara tears running down her gold spun dress
Leaving a stain upon her happiness
Alone again, it’s like midnight struck
This should’ve been prince
Is out of time and luck
Say goodbye to starry dances
Say goodbye to reckless romances
Bound with a kiss
Oh it’s a different story than the one they tell ya
It’s the end of Cinderella
Seeping sun spilling through her darkened door
Gone the fairytale she lived before
Stars and wells - they only make her wish
But sometimes the glass slipper doesn’t fit
No one’s riding to her rescue
She’s walking her own path
She knows once upon a time
Is never coming back
Oh, it's a different story than the one they tell ya...
It's the end of Cinderella.

She Believes
03:58
|
|||
THERE'S A CUT ON HER RIGHT HAND
FROM THE NIGHT WHEN HE GOT A LITTLE TOO MAD. BEER AND BOTTLES REALLY DON'T MIX. THERE'S A BIG BRUISE ON HER LEFT HIP FROM THE TIME WHEN SHE TELLS ME SHE SLIPPED DOWN THE STAIRS BUT HE WAS THERE AND HE WATCHED HER FALL.
SHE'S NEVER TRIED TO LEAVE HIM
SHE'S NEVER CRIED OR HELP. 'CAUSE SHE BELIEVES IN FAIRY TALES THAT EVERY DAMSEL IN DISTRESS IS RESCUED. SHE BELIEVES IN DREAMS COME TRUE AND IF YOU ASK HER SHE WILL TELL YOU THAT EVERY NIGHT SHE TURNS DOWN THE LIGHT JUST TO HIDE THE FIGHT IN HIS EYES. 'CAUSE SHE BELIEVES HER FROG IS A PRINCE AND SHE KEEPS ON KISSING HER GOOD YEARS GOOD-BYE.
THERE'S A NOTE TUCKED IN HER DIARY FROM THE DAY WE, WE TRIED TO STEP IN. BUT TRUTH AND DENIAL AREN'T FRIENDS. THERE'S A TEAR YOU CAN SEE SOMETIMES WHEN SHE CAN'T FIND REASON TO JUSTIFY SHUTTING US OUT JUST TO KEEP IN WITH HIM. SHE ALWAYS GETS UP ON HIS GOOD SIDE SHE ENDS UP ON HIS BAD. BUT...SHE BELIEVES IN FAIRYTALES...

Silence
03:16
|
|||
No one ever gets in
Nothing ever comes out
I don’t know how many times I’ve tried
To beat this door down.
You hold me close
And It feels so right
But enough with the
strong, silent type.
Is a dagger pointed at my heart?
Is behind that smile a poison dart?
Do you love me too?
Am I just being used?
Baby, I can’t tell where you are.
When you’re near me
All I hear is
Silence.
You say you’re not good with emotions.
The words don’t come.
But I’m not a mind reader.
I don’t know whether
to stay or run.
If you’re choking
on the notion that
love could be this close?
I want to know.
Silence is screaming
I’m starting to believe it.
There’s a dagger pointed at my heart.
And behind your smile is a poison dart.
You don’t love me too.
I am just being used.
Baby, now I know who you are.
When you want me,
When you need me,
All you’ll hear is…

The Looking Glass
03:09
|
|||
I can see her on a park bench, she’s feeding bread to pigeons.
But that’s not her intention.
She looks at her reflection, and never smiles at water that distorts her image.
And it doesn’t take much to fall down.
That could be me, yeah, That could be me.
Breaking, broken on I go.
Will beauty be what I behold?
Looking past the looking glass at me.
Glance at passing windows - stranger in my own skin.
I’m bordering obsession.
I look at my reflection.
Here comes my mask, laying down its guard.
It’s giving way to a smile that doesn’t try so hard.
Could that be me, yeah? Could that be me?
Oh, Mirror, mirror in the wall. Far from fairest of them all.
Or is that just my insecurity?
Looking past the looking glass, at me.

When the Spell is Broken
02:49
|
|||
YOU WERE LEADING ME UP LONG AND WINDING STAIRS
UP TO A TOWER WHERE
THERE WAS A DOOR AND A KEY
IN A TRANCE IT SEEMED
I OBEYED YOUR EVERY WORD.
YOU WERE FEEDING ME SOFT SPOKEN LIES
FOOLING ME WITH YOUR GENTLE EYES
UNTIL I LET DOWN MY GUARD
AND EXPOSED MY HEART
TO A WOLF IN A LAMB’S DISGUISE.
SO THE GUY’S NO PRINCE
AND THE CASTLE’S MADE OF SAND
AND THERE IT ALL GOES WITH THE WAVE OF A HAND.
SOME STORIES ARE BETTER LEFT UNSPOKEN.
BUT I WON’T GIVE UP.
NO. I WON’T TURN AROUND.
I’VE BEEN THERE BEFORE, AND I’VE LEARNED BY NOW
THAT I WILL NOT FALL DOWN
WHEN THE SPELL IS BROKEN.
SO THE BUTTERFLIES, MOON, AND STARS ARE GONE
BACK WHERE THEY BELONG.
THAT’S FINE WITH ME.
I’D RATHER BE
ALONE THAN LONELY WITH SOMEONE.
…AND THE SPELL IS BROKEN.

I Surrender
03:13
|
|||
I’ve been throwing punches in a misty fog
I’ve been fighting battles already long gone
In my pursuit of perfection
In the hope for resurrection of the past
My armor is a t -shirt that reads, “BUG OFF”
I’ve worn it ‘til the words are cracking off
It’s met its fate like my yesterdays
And there’s nothing left to do.
So, I Surrender
I Surrender
I hang onto my memories
Like they’re close to the edge
I don’t wanna let go and
I don’t wanna forget
Cause I’m only a fool to
Just walk away from them
They make me who I am.
Wave a white flag, a white flag over my head
Turn myself in
Abandon to you instead
No more fighting, get out now
While there’s still life left.
I Surrender

Real Life Fairytale
03:15
|
|||
If I had a magic wand,
If I could cast a perfect spell,
Teach the dove a new song,
Found a fool-proof wishing well,
If a Prince name Charming
came knockin’ at my door,
What would I need him for?
I’ve got a silly spring in my step.
I’ve got butterflies in my stomach.
What more could I want, Baby, all I need is wrapped up in you.
We’ve got a once in a life-time chance.
We’ve got a genuine romance.
I’m not under any spell.
We've got a real–life fairytale.
You love my crooked little nose.
And how my hair falls in my face.
I love the way that you dance slow.
Your feet stayed glued in place.
I know tomorrow and forever
will always feel this way,
Our love is here to stay.
Those storytellers did the best they could.
But nobody’s ever written us this good.

Between the Covers
03:45
|
|||
I always dreamt about what would happen
between the covers, of my life.
I always laughed out loud to think it’d happen
Just the way I planned in the corners of my mind.
But I’d be damned if I missed one day.
Let it pass me by.
Turn the page
See what’s next
You never know what you’re gonna get.
There’s a whole lot going on here.
The beauty, the sadness
The quiet, the madness -
This is me Between the Covers.
So many twists and turns blind-siding me
Just made me stronger inside.
All the choices made, and the dreams on hold,
Because it wasn’t the right time.
I could stop and just shut the book
But there’s life in every line.
With every word
And every breath
There’s so much left to be written…
Turn the page
See what’s next
You never know what you’re gonna get
There’s a whole lot going on here….
A little luck, a lot of faith
And the chance to taste
The beauty, the sadness
The quiet, the madness,
This is me
Between the covers.
This is me between the covers.

If I ever met love, I’d have to pinch myself.
I’d take pictures and send it to all of my friends
I’d never let it go.
I’d take it everywhere.
And cross the map to the other side and back again.
Can I, can I believe in love?
Love, believe in me.
Will I, will I find what I seek.
Love, believe in me.
Should I give love another try.
Love, believe in me.
Is it a possibility?
Love, believe in me.
Saw it on an airplane, a woman and her man.
He was showing off the diamond on her left hand.
They were just married.
And the look in their eyes.
Was the love between a husband and wife.
Can I, can I believe in love?
Love, believe in me.
Will I, will I find what I seek.
Love, believe in me.
Should I give love another try.
Love, believe in me.
Is it a possibility?
Love, believe in me.
Grey hair and wrinkles, a couple holding hands
Fifty years and still together they stand.
He picks her a flower.
She takes it and grins
And love has won her heart all over again.
Can I, can I believe in love?
Love, believe in me.
Will I, will I find what I seek.
Love, believe in me.
Should I give love another try.
Love, believe in me.
Is it a possibility?
Love, believe in me.
